Our operators
How we make an operator.
We'd rather show you the whole process than ask you to trust it. Here is every step — judge it yourself.
The pipeline
Every step, in the open.
Fewer than 1% of applicants are accepted. Harder to get into than Harvard.
- 1,000+ applicants
- ~50 pass screening
- ~15 enter training
- fewer than 10 placed
- 01
Apply
Candidates apply through TruPorch Academy. No real estate experience required — just clear thinking and clear writing.
- 02
Written assessment
Candidates must score at least 7 out of 10 on a scenario-based written assessment. Questions built to reveal how a candidate reasons, not what they have memorized.
- 03
Personality profile
Culture Index and HEXACO personality profiling. Used to understand how each person works best, and to shape the interview.
- 04
Structured AI interview
Leslie, our AI interviewer, runs a structured interview tailored to each candidate's background and profile. A person reviews every result.
- 05
Selection
Far more candidates are turned away here than move forward.
- 06
TruPorch Academy
90 days of training before placement. Three phases, three Socratic gates, and monthly written and verbal exams.
- 07
Placement and management
Graduates are matched to a client and managed by Portico — quality checks, coaching, and coverage.
Inside TruPorch Academy
Made, not hired.
Every Portico operator is a graduate of TruPorch Academy — a selective, demanding program run by the company that employs its graduates.
- Fewer than 1% of applicants are accepted
- 90 days of training before placement
- Paid from day one — never a fee
- 3,000+ lessons
- Socratic coaching, with milestone gates at days 30, 60, and 90
Days 1–30
Caterpillar · Consume
Immersion in the operating system — the tools, the standards, the way we communicate. Mornings in the curriculum; afternoons applying it with a coach.
Gate one: the fundamentals stuck.
Days 31–60
Cocoon · Transform
The hardest stretch. Sandbox reps on real scenarios, shadowing senior leads, and coaching that asks why until the reasoning holds.
Gate two: judgment, not memory.
Days 61–90
Butterfly · Take flight
Real work, end to end, with a safety net that steps back each week — until the standard is theirs.
Gate three: everything, together, at full speed.
How the Academy teaches
The Socratic method
We teach by asking, not telling. Coaches ask why until the reasoning holds — so operators learn to think, not recite.
The sandbox
Real scenarios where mistakes cost nothing and teach everything.
Practice with AI
An AI practice partner trained on our standards. Unlimited rehearsal between coaching sessions, graded against the same rubric coaches use.
The library
3,000+ lessons. An on-demand curriculum built from how a real operation runs.
U.S. cultural fluency
American cultural fluency training — customer avatars and curated U.S. media.
Written and verbal exams
Each month ends with both. A month only counts when both are passed.
The best training program I have ever seen. Full stop.
Why judgment
Knowing the rule is not the same as applying it.
Early trainees could recite our definitions and still get the real case wrong — the refund decision, the guest type, the judgment call. So the training drills application: decision scenarios scored to a mastery bar, reasoned through with a coach, until the right call is a habit.

Next step
See where your operation stands.
Ten questions, about two minutes. You'll get your owner-dependency score and where we'd start.
On the 15-minute call
- We learn your operation: the portfolio, the tools, and what’s eating your week.
- We tell you plainly whether an operator fits — and which function we’d hand off first.
- You leave with a real start date and a scoped plan. No pressure to decide on the call.
